Is Your Own Health A Priority?

Do you make your own health a priority in your daily life? How much effort do you put into taking care of your wellbeing? Do you pay attention to what you are eating or do you just grab food on the run? Do you exercise on most days or only when it’s convenient? Do you drink water or coffee all day? Do you wake with the sun and pay attention to your fatigue in the evening?

There are so many ways that you can improve your health, and they don’t have to take up much time. Just start with paying attention. That only takes a moment. Are you eating because you’re hungry or because you’re stressed? Are you sleeping because you’re tired or are you overriding your sleepiness with sugar? Is your back tight because you moved too much today or not enough? Just observe your patterns without judgement. Don’t get mad at yourself for your choices. Life is hard, and we all find different ways to cope. That doesn’t mean we can’t make changes and reverse those coping mechanisms. Start small. Start so small that you may think it will make no difference. If you can make that tiny change become routine, then you can add another small step. If you can make your own health a priority for a moment every day, then that minute change will look quite significant after you maintain it for a year.
